“When I think of all the good times                                                                                                      that I’ve wasted having good times… Eric Burdon

animals-houseIt’s Throwback Thursday! What could be more appropriate than taking a little trip down the memory lane of Rock & Roll . “Sherman set the Way-Back Machine to the summer of 1964 . Today we are going to visit one of the most prolific blue singer/songwriters  of the British Invasion, Eric Burdon whose release of a soulful, bluesy rendition of “House of the Rising Sun” propelled his group “The Animals” up the American charts.  Who can forget Animal hits like “Boom Boom”, “It’s my Life”, “We got to get out of This Place,” “Don’t Let me be Misunderstood,” “Bring it on home to Me,” “Help me Girl,” “White Houses,” “San Franciscan Nights,” “Monterey,” “Sky Pilot,”and his big hit with War “Spill the Wine.” Yeah Eric and his incredible voice have definitely left it’s mark on Rock & Roll.

Yes folks that’s right Raylene and I are about to see Eric Burdon at the Coachhouse in San Juan Capistrano. It’s probably been about 8 years since we last saw Eric. I believe the las  time was right here at the Coachhouse. This will be the 10th time we’ve seen him. The 5that this venue. I must confess Ray and I used to suffer from “Burdonmania! I won’t go so far as to call ourselves groupies, more like devout fans. Once upon a time we used to travel all over the place to see Eric perform,San Juan Capistrano, San Diego, Yucaipa, San Gabriel Doheny and even Las Vegas. Oh my God maybe we were groupies!

Okay, it’s nearly time for Eric to make his appearance. Yes I was blogging during the opening act, who was quite good actually, but no blogging while Eric’s on stage, no way! Gonna enjoy this!
